When I began helping Christian women inside our Clarify Program with Quarterly Business Strategic Planning, I noticed a common trend. The Business Wheel: A Good Compass On Your Roadmap to Success

As business owners, we often find ourselves juggling multiple aspects of our operations, trying to keep everything running smoothly. It’s easy to get overwhelmed and lose sight of what needs our immediate attention. That’s where the Business Wheel Assessment comes in. This tool helps you identify and prioritize the areas in your business that require your focus and effort.

The Business Wheel consists of eight critical areas in business:

1. Joy in the Journey: Are you enjoying the process? This area focuses on your personal satisfaction and happiness in your entrepreneurial journey.

2. Branding: How strong and consistent is your brand? This includes your visual identity, messaging, and the overall perception of your business.

3. Marketing: Are your marketing strategies effective? This area assesses your marketing plans, campaigns, and the results you are getting.

4. Community Insight: Do you understand your clients' needs and desires? This involves listening to your community and gathering insights that can inform your business decisions.

5. Business Growth: Is your business expanding (aka Prayer of Jabez, is your territory increasing)? This area looks at areas like: sales, customer list, and market presence.

6. Profitability: Are you making a profit? This assesses your financial health, including revenue, expenses, and overall profitability.

7. Pivot as Needed: Are you adaptable? This area examines your ability to pivot and adapt to changes in the market or your business environment.

8. CEO Mindset: Do you think like a CEO? This involves taking time for strategic thinking and making decisions that drive your business forward.

By rating each area from 1 (needs work) to 10 (doing great), you can quickly identify where you stand. The goal is to pick 1-2 areas to focus on for the upcoming quarter. This narrowed focus allows you to use your energy and resources to move forward with your business and make meaningful progress.

How to Use the Business Wheel Assessment

1. Reflect: Take some time to reflect on each area. Be honest with yourself about where your business stands.
2. Rate: Assign a rating from 1 to 10 for each area.
3. Identify Priorities: Based on your ratings, identify 1-2 areas that need the most attention.
4. Create a Plan: Develop a strategic plan to improve in your chosen areas over the next quarter.
5. Take Action: Implement your plan, track your progress, and adjust as needed.

Why Focus Matters

As entrepreneurs, our go-getter gumption can sometimes slow us down by wanting to tackle everything at once. While the enthusiasm is commendable, it’s not always practical. By focusing on 1-2 areas, you can make significant strides without spreading yourself too thin.
